In the Foundation stage we decided to look at the story of 'The Smartest Giant in Town'. In each classroom we had the opportunity to do an activity from the story. Mrs Ellesmere did races in the hall where we had to dress each other up like the giant George. With Mrs Corry we made ties and decorated them. With Mrs Hannon we talked about the character George and how he felt in the story and with Mrs Nelson we retold the story through music and movement. It was great fun being dressed up as our favourite story book characters. The teachers didn't look too bad either!
On Tuesday we had lots of fun making pancakes! We talked about the significance of Pancake Tuesday and what we needed to make them. We made the pancakes in our activity area and enjoyed eating them with sugar, lemon and butter. Some of us wanted Nutella!
On Friday 9th December we had a visit from the police. They told us what it was like to be a police officer and what to do if we meet a stranger. We got to try on their hats and have a go using their hand cuffs. The police officers then let us have a look inside their van. Some of us got locked up!
