P.6 Mr Beckett
This term the current P.6’s have been working hard in both Numeracy and Literacy in preparation for their AQE practice papers. This however has been coupled with some fantastic and fun activities such as World Book Day, in which the children dressed up as their favourite book character and took part in many fun, book related activities throughout the day.
As well as all the Numeracy and Literacy the children have also been enjoying studying ‘the Victorians’ as part of our World Around Us Topic. Within this area of study the pupils have learnt about the Victorian way of life, the importance of this era, what technological advances had been made and the impact that the Victorians had on Schools. As part of our topic the children had a VERY strict Victorian School day, taking part in many Victorian related activities- lucky for the children, the teachers were still unable to use the cane!
This has been a term to remember with our P.6 Residential to Ardnabannon. The children all loved this trip and took part in many activities including, canoeing, bouldering, orienteering, climbing and much, much more. Every child had the opportunity to challenge and push themselves, with all achieving so much.
