Welcome to Film & Animation club :)

Film and Animation club is for pupils in P5-7. The club is after school on Thursdays from 3:00 to 3:45pm in terms 1 and 2.

In the club, pupils have the opportunity to create their own productions using a range of techniques such as puppet shows, plays, flipbooks and stop motion animation. They use iPads and the two most popular apps we use are iMovie and Stop Motion. One of the most important points for children to remember in this club is good teamwork, as they need to work in small groups. Include all members of your group and don't forget to have fun!

 

What is stop-motion animation?

  • Does not have to include real life actors moving about or talking in front of a camera
  • Characters are drawn, sculpted, made on computers etc
  • The characters arms and legs are moved and a picture is taken each time
  • Each pose is only slightly different each time
  • The pictures are then played one after each other very quickly to make it look like the character is really moving
