We have been doing lots of outdoor activities and we have been learning new football skills every Wednesday and we have had picnics outside and some practices for our Sport's Day. We have hunted for bugs and even got a special jar to put them in. We have painted bugs and ladybirds. We released our butterflies and we watched them carefully changing from caterpillars. We have visited the pond to look at our tadpoles. We have been singing with Mr Campbell on a Tuesday and we have been playing games such as, "duck, duck, goose" and "what's the time Mr Wolf?". We have opened our garden centre outside and the children have been looking after the plants.
We visited the Ark Open Farm and we got to feed and stroke lots of the animals. Despite the wet weather everyone had a great time.
In January we have been busy learning about Arctic animals and we have done lots of experiments using ice and we made a home for a penguin and Miss McGimpsey made us a fantastic igloo to play with. We have been learning about shape and we have been hunting for 3d and 2d shapes both inside and out. We have had visits form the Dentist and we got to dress up and look at food which is good for our teeth. We had a visit from a nurse and all our teddies needed a check up.
We performed our Nativity for all our parents and friends and we had a visit from Vikki from “Plant and Play” and we made reindeer book marks and we planted some seeds. We had a Christmas party and had a very special visitor.
After our Christmas Holiday he have been very busy making models out of Junk and we have been learning about shape and ice. We have had a visit from the Dentist telling us about her job and how to look after our teeth.
We have made rainbow fruit salad and our Jo-Jingles sessions have started. Our Mum's have come into Nursery to read us stories too.
We have lit our campfire and had singing, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows with our Parents, the P7’s and P6’s.
A big thank you to Mr Campbell for playing the guitar and to Dylan too !!
In October we had a visit by Lorraine from the Ark Farm and she brought along some hedgehogs, a bearded dragon, tortoises and a snake. Some children were brave enough to put the snake around their necks. We talked about the harvest on the farm and animals that hibernate. We listened really well and everyone got a turn to stroke the animals if they wanted too.
In November we have been learning through Fairy Tales and dark and light. We baked “Gingerbread Men”, made them out of dough, and pretended to be a Gingerbread Man. We painted our favourite Fairy Tale character and we have been setting the table for the 3 bears, building houses for the 3 little pigs and playing Goldilocks bingo. We have played lots of lotto, sequencing and memory games and we are very good at waiting our turn. We have visited the Computer Suite and we have been playing games. We have also been having lots of outdoor fun and we have helped cleaning up in the garden and looking at the leaves we find. We have new sea/jungle/dinosaur worlds outside and we have been playing with these too. We dressed in our pyjamas for Children in Need and we are still looking at books both outside and inside.
