Nursery
Term 3 Learning Plan
March
In March we have been looking at patterns and measures. We had a visit from the Firefighters in the morning session and we got to dress up, squirt the hose and sit in the Fire Engine, it was a great visit. We also had our second visit to Forest School and we really enjoyed the experience. We've had puddle walks and lots of fun outdoors too.
February
In February, we have been celebrating Number Day, making pancakes and doing lots of paintings of "People who Help us". We had a visit from Nurse Judith and Laura the Paramedic and we got to go in an ambulance-which was amazing. We have been making lots of models with junk materials and of course lots of outdoor play and campfires. Some P7 children brought our Valentine buns over from their sale and we loved choosing our buns carefully.
January
During January we had more parents into Nursery to read us a story and we want to say "thank you" to all of them. In Outdoor play we have been on a Winter walk and we found lots of ice and we filled our double bikes with leaves and washed our digging area toys.
We have been doing "shows" on our stage and we planted seeds in our new planter, and we hope they will grow soon.
In indoor play, we opened the hospital in the role play area and we made rainbow fruit salad and we have been looking at shape in both areas.
Term 2 Learning Plan
November
November has been another busy month with lots of gardening, brushing up leaves and looking at shadows outside. We have also been practicing our Road Safety. We had our first campfire and we toasted marshmallows and drank lovely hot chocolate. Mr Campbell played the guitar and we had some lovely singing as well. We also visited the computer suite to try and find the spider.
We have also been learning about Fairy Tales and we have had fun acting out the stories and re-telling our favourite ones.
We have been cooking and baking and we made Vegetable Soup, Porridge and Gingerbread Men....only 1 escaped from the oven this year.
We have been running, cycling or walking our Daily Mile.
We had some super story reading when some of our Mum's visite Nursery...thank-you.
We finished off the month with a wonderful visit to Forest School at Clandeboye. We did an Autumn walk and collected leaves to make a mobile and then we had fun playing in the trees and playing with our friends.
October
We have all settled very well into Nursery and we are enjoying both outdoor and indoor play We starte Jo-Jingles and we had lots of animals visit from the Ark Farm and we have been enjoying our yoga. We have been doing lots of drawing with chalk and lots of pieces of art with nature. We opened our digging area and we have had lots of fun building and balancing on obstacle courses. We had lots of windy day play last week with bubbles and scarves.
Crawfordsburn 2023
First Days....
We have had so much fun settling in to Nursery. We have made lots of new friends and we have been very busy. Lots of outdoor play, painting, building, playing in the mud station and having fun with bubbles. We have drawn with chalk, made obstacle courses,played in the sand house, stage and cottage and looked at lots of different books We have found snails, worms and even a Dragon Fly and we have visited our own "Forest School" every Thursday.. We have even started our yoga classes....lots more fun to come!!!
